Dr. Katherine O’Donnell has been a board certified general surgeon since 2000. During that time she has transitioned to the single focus of breast disease and recently became the Medical Director of the nationally accredited Windsong Comprehensive Breast Care (WCBC). She received her BS in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Binghamton and attended Saint Louis University for a postgraduate degree in Pharmacology. She graduated summa cum laude from the Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences obtaining her medical degree. While receiving her surgical training, Dr. O’Donnell participated in funded research and produced publications and abstracts. Multiple awards have been granted to her with the most recent in 2011, Business First’s Health Care 50 Award. She maintains active memberships with the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons and participates in the nationwide Mastery of Breast Surgery Program.
Dr. O’Donnell’s commitment to patients and community is evident by her lead on a bi weekly Question and Answer session for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. This meeting affords patients and families the opportunity to speak with members of the Comprehensive Breast Care team shortly after their diagnosis. As Medical Director of WCBC, she is the Program Leader for a Multidisciplinary Conference with a team of Radiologists, Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists and local referring physicians.
During her time off she enjoys sailing, gardening and traveling.
Michael Peyser, MD, FACS joins Windsong Comprehensive Breast Care as a board certified surgeon with an extensive medical background in surgical oncology.
Dr. Peyser received his medical degree and completed his surgical residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. After medical school, Dr. Peyser completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and was a clinical instructor through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. For the past ten years, he has practiced surgical oncology in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, and was part of a large, multi-specialty group at Hampton Roads Surgical Specialists in Newport News and Williamsburg. He was also a clinical professor and instructed students and residents in Surgical Oncology and General Surgery at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Peyser was the recipient of several outstanding achievement awards from the Commission on Cancer, American College of Surgeons; and was recently recognized by the Hampton Roads Magazine as a Top Doc. He has written and presented numerous articles relative to health and cancer, organized the Breast Cancer Program at Riverside Regional Medical Center, proctored other surgeons in techniques of breast cancer surgery, and formed committees to align physicians and the hospital with the cancer needs of the patients.
Dr. Peyser is continually researching and implementing new practices and is committed to providing the most progressive breast cancer treatment and care for his patients in a multi-modality fashion.
Kathleen Thomas, FNP has spent her career taking care of patients with a specialized focus on medical oncology. She earned her Nurse Practitioner degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1997 and currently is ANCC Certified. She provides follow up care for post operative breast disease patients in the breast surgeons office. She maintains current in her knowledge of medical and surgical oncology by working as a Clinical Nursing Instructor for the State University of New York at Buffalo at the Roswell location.
During her time off she enjoys reading, walking and golfing.
Jill Willard, ANP- C has a background in both emergency medicine and oncology. She earned her Nurse Practitioner degree from Daemen College with honors from Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is currently AANP Certified and provides follow up car for post operative patients. In addition, she provides clinical guidance for patient calls to the office.
During her time off she enjoys softball and time with family.

Laboratory services are provided to allow our physicians to closely monitor patients. The physicians and nurses work together to determine the effectiveness of treatment and modifications as needed.

The Dr. Janet Sung Women’s Imaging Suite opened in 2010 as a completely redesigned space to provide women a world class imaging center with the latest technology in a spa like setting. Our professional team of board certified Radiologists includes those fellowship-trained in Women’s imaging that personally provide the results of breast imaging and can accommodate same day additional tests or biopsy, if indicated. The facility is American College of Radiologist (ACR) accredited and has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE). They always strive to exceed the clinical standards of care and participate in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC) program of quality assurance. The Radiologist and certified technologist are able to complete screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound, core and stereotactic biopsies, MRI and PET scans to ensure the most comprehensive diagnosis are provided to the breast surgeons and oncologists.
Windsong Radiology Group has 2 dedicated Certified Breast Patient Navigators (C-BPN) to assist breast cancer patients with scheduling appointments, answering questions, providing referrals and anticipating needs. The Navigators facilitate a bi weekly question and answer session for newly diagnosed patients and provide an open line of communication for the patients and families to begin the journey to survivorship. The two BPN’s have extensive experience as radiology technicians with special focus on women’s imaging, breast health and breast disease. They provide information regarding resources and support services for patients and families, assist in the coordination of services throughout the continuum of breast cancer care and enhance the patients quality of life, sense of autonomy and self determination for managing her own health.
